With its split-parallelogram mother of pearl fingerboard inlays, crown headstock inlay, and elaborate three-point tortoise pickguard with engraved hummingbird motif, the Hummingbird True Vintage takes us back to the subtle glamour of this Gibson model of 1960.Gibson Acoustics guitar workshop in Bozeman, Montana, is known for crafting some of the finest instruments ever produced in the 120-plus-year history of this storied company, and for fans of great vintage-spec flat-tops the True Vintage series is the cream of the crop. Now Gibson is releasing an extremely limited edition of just 167 pieces each of three selected True Vintage models, the J-45, SJ-200, and Hummingbird, all of which will receive deluxe upgrades worth as much as $1500. A Gibson True Vintage acoustic is already the closest thing to hopping into a time capsule and traveling back to the era when your favorite classic flat-top was born, but add these limited deluxe treatments to the brew and each model offers a rare opportunity for both players and collectors. Each Limited Edition True Vintage SJ-200 and J-45 will be built with a top made from solid Red Spruce, a rare and highly prized tone wood, and will be constructed with hot hide glue, just like back in the day. I just recently got myself new Taylor 414ce acoustic guitar! a lovely 2008 model. In the video the guitar was a bit out of tune...that's because I had just recently restrung it myself but you get the idea of its sound. Now here is everything you need to know about this guitar.... GRAND AUDITORIUM BODY: is a full size body dreadnought with the waists pushed in a bit more and easier to hold than a dreadnought and a nice Venetian cutaway. BACK AND SIDES: Solid Ovangkol(with a bit of flame) and Satin finish TOP: Solid Sitka Spruce and a gloss finish NECK HEADSTOCK FRONT: Indian Rosewood NECK: Taylor's NT neck design with finger joint all Mahogany. FRETBOARD: Ebony with pearl dotted inlays. BRACING: X-Forward Shifted ELECTRONICS: Nieve designed Taylor Expression system. 3 magnetic pickups. (2 body sensors 1 string sensor) powered by a 9volt battery ROSETTE: alternating black and white lined plastic pattern. BRIDGE: Ebony Bridge and Ebony Pins BINDING: All white Ivory binding along back and sides of body and the neck. HARDWARE: All chrome Taylor tuners and tuning pegs STRINGS: Elixer Polywebs lights. We're back at Old Town School of Folk Music where Tim Joyce is joined by the fingerpickin' fury of Tony Polecastro. Tim and Tony compare two guitars -- a Martin 00-15 with a solid mahogany top and a Larrivee 0M03R with a solid spruce top. The Sam Ash Music store in Madison Tennessee hosted a Larrivee acoustic guitar day on June 27, 2009, with many of the top performing artists from around Nashville coming to jam. One of those, Jimmy Fortune, long-time tenor with the Statler Brothers, and a Country Music Hall Of Fame member, spent most of the day playing the pre-production approval sample of the upcoming BagAmp portable amplifier system.
