The Gordons - Nine Pound Hammer
"Nine Pound Hammer" as performed by Gary and Roberta Gordon. www.myspace.com Meet Gary and Roberta Gordon. Influenced by the great music of their era, this husband and wife duo were baptized by bluegrass music and have made wonderful folk music ever since. Accompanied by Gary's tasteful Gallagher guitar and dobro, Roberta plays the American born Appalachian autoharp. With many recordings to their credit since 1976 , harmony singing is their signature. The Gordons have been bringing their music to audiences since the 1970's, when they began touring throughout the Midwest, playing clubs, fairs, festivals and colleges. Their band featured guitar, banjo, fiddle and upright bass with Gary on lead guitar, dobro and vocals and Roberta Gordon singing and playing the autoharp. During this time The Gordons recorded two albums, both of which received national radio airplay. Just as The Gordons had built a solid fan base through the Midwest, they amassed a sizable following in the Carolinas throughout the 1980s, playing festivals and fairs as well as making two acclaimed performances at the Mint Museum in Charlotte. By the late 1980s, they were working again in the midwest, and played a $150.00 per ticket show in Chicago at the Swiss Grand Hotel. In 1989, they recorded with dobro great Josh Graves and bluegrass fiddler Kenny Baker, from Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Boys. The resulting album, Old Time Radio Show, and live concert at Cincinnati's celebrated Old Time Music Hall were ...

Blues Rock Guitar Lick lesson (fast)
www.dolphinstreet.com a short, fast lick played in the key of E. This lick uses the E Blues scale. Practice this lick slow and only increase the speed when you have the technique under control. Those pull-offs and hammer-ons are the secret to playing it smoothly. Check out my website for more lesson. I used a Suhr guitar and a Line 6 Spider Valve MkII on the Insane channel, with the drive dimed. A bit of the amp's digital delay was added. The amp was played at very low volume. Cool amp. Analog Synth & Detuned Blackface Fenders - RN7-1 (Post Modern)
Drums - David Wainer, Basses and Backing Vox - Nick Waldron, Guitars, Vox, Lasers, Guitar Synth, Textures and SFX. - Geoff Waldron, Rhythm Guitar and Backing Vox - Marty Rogers. Bass is a 1977 Fender Musicmaster plugged straight into a Fender 65 Bandmaster and Roland Bass Synth. Guitar tracks are a 1985 Hamer Scarab plugged straight into a 65 Fender Super Reverb and 65 Princeton. No pedals or FX were used on the main guitar and bass tracks. No keyboards were used in the song, All of the "keyboard" sounds are monophonic analog guitar synth tracks meticulously layered and stacked upon each other. The space atmosphere intro was accomplished with reverbs and a simple analog wave generator/filter only. The song was tracked and recorded, mixed and mastered by Geoff Waldron in the various bedrooms he's had the last fifteen years and was financed with an absolutely constraining shoestring budget. The song is a large collage of various layers and textures. It is also rather simple but the various images and sounds contained within are complex yet organic. The song is the sum of Geoff's life experiences and was written in 1995. The video contains many iconic images of the 60's and 70's and reflects the "collage-like" atmosphere of the composition. This is the band's only copyrighted song as of right now and as soon as more mixes are finished (redone maybe? There's constant remixing, repairing and the salvaging and rediscovering of the music that has been accumulating over the years ...
