LG GD910 Hardware and Software Review
We finally get to spend some quality time with the LG 3G watch phone. The hardware is attractive, and if you've got wrists that are big enough, you'll have no problem wearing the device as a watch full time. On the software end, the offering is minimal, as you might expect from a device so small. The GD910 can make and take voice and video calls, it can play music, take and display photos, keep a contact list, do math with a calculator, plus a variety of other PIM functions like voice recording, note-taking, and task list. All syncing must be done with the included dock and computer cable, so don't expect to get wireless sync. In terms of messaging, the GD910 can do SMS, but not email. Overall, the GD910 is undoubtedly a cool device and works very well as a simple phone. Beyond that, don't expect it to replace your smartphone. Also, with a price around $1000, it's prohibitively expensive. If this device cost a quarter of the price, it could be a cool gadget to have around for the weekends or for times when you don't want a smartphone in your pocket. The keyboard is a nice size and feels good to type on the keys. The mouse pad as a bit of a plastic feel to it but it does work well. The 10.1 in screen gives you a lot of screen real estate to work with when looking at longer documents such as spreadsheets. There is a 1.3 Megapixel camera that can be used for video chat and Skype calls. To this on the road the netbook comes 3G ready, an 1.6ghz Intel Atom processor and 1GB of ram and 7 hours of battery life on a full charge to round up the hardware specs. LG Smart On A quick way to access information without full loading into the OS you can. the OS turns on in a second and gives you access to quick things such as Web, Music, Pictures, Online Gaming and Chat. INQ Chat 3G cell phone video camera camcorder example test video
EXPAND FOR MORE INFORMATION --- This is an example test video of the INQ Chat 3G mobile phone video camera camcorder feature. In order to compare and contrast the video and audio capture qualities of this 3.2 megapixel cellphone with other devices of the same price range, the video capture was taken while holding four different devices at the exact same time, namely (listed in order of quality from best to worst): MiniDV D005 uCorder IRDC250 LG Neon TE365 INQ Chat 3G All handy's were set to their highest quality settings for video capture. I have also posted the example test videos of the other three devices right here on YouTube, for you to hold your own comparison and review. Overall, the MiniDV D005 gave the best video quality and resolution (720X480 @ 31 frames per second) while the INQ Chat 3G gave the worst (with a maximum resolution of 176X144 @ 4.7 FPS). The uCorder IRDC250 produced a 640X480 video file @ 25 FPS, and the LG Neon TE365 produced a 320X240 video file @ 7.6 FPS. All four devices have included rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, but only the cellular phones (the LG Neon TE365 and the INQ Chat 3G) had LCD displays that allowed the user to view what they were filming at the time. Sound capture was also best on the MiniDV D005 (PCM S16 LE (araw), Mono, 22050 Hz, 16 bits per sample), sounding most clear and of the highest fidelity (despite a continual knocking sound that can be heard in the background). LG Optimus V Review
Hey Guys! The last past week and a half I have been testing this phone and what it was built to do. Everything from browsing the internet to playing applications. I must say this phone is nice but, it does have it's main downside. The downside is the reception of the phone Virgin Mobile provides. I can understand because they are all about budget and it will get the call done. But, you must know that calls get dropped and sometimes you will get no reception at all. If Virgin Mobile wanted to step up their game I think they should invest in more cell towers to increase reception. Also, the battery life on this phone was average. Sometimes I would charge it in the morning and leave it there on sleep mode and when I came home it was dead. After testing I can say that batterylife on the Optimus V is about 5-6 hours depending on how much you use it. In conclusion other carriers such as At&t, T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon carry this phone but, with a different name and maybe a couple changes. This will make reception and all the other features the Optimus V much smoother and give you that better browsing experience! Liked This Phone? The LG GD910 watch phone is a GSM device and thus takes a SIM card. To remove the backing, you used the included tool. Once the backing is off, you can insert your SIM card. In this video, I conduct a review of Apple's iPhone 3G. A writeup of this review is at www.bwana.org . I give an account of our initial impressions during the activation process and a brief overview of the unboxing (see previous video). The good aspects of the iPhone 3G are the 3G speeds (of course), GPS chip, and 3G technology perks which include using data while on a call. Some of the drawbacks include the battery life (when on 3G), cheap quality accessories, and lack of quality in the hardware buttons. Overall, I'm happy with the iPhone 3G. I believe it presents an attractive upgrade for those who are interested in faster browsing speeds while on the go, GPS-based social networking, and improved technology during calls. I find myself using the iPhone 3G a little bit more than the previous iteration, mostly due to the wave of new applications from the iTunes App Store. Again, this benefit is not unique to the iPhone 3G and if you are interested in that, I would recommend looking up used iPhones on eBay. (Sorry, we've already sold ours for $300+ each). I'd like to also mention the drawback of the carrier contract. Since the iPhone 3G is a worldwide release, I don't want to dwell on the shackles of AT&T too much. As reported on the web, Canada has its hands full with Rogers as well. When considering the iPhone 3G, always factor in carrier costs, including data plan costs over the life of the contract, and cancellation fees. They are important.Even with its reduced battery ...

It's aim is to be a budget messenger phone with smartphone capabilities. With that you receive mid-low range specs with a 3.2 inch display, 800 Mhz processor, slide-out full QWERTY keyboard, physical menu buttons, 3.2 megapixel camera, 3G data only and a pre-installed 2 GB SD card. The build quality is all plastic and has a toy like feel to it but these specs are good for the target markets for this phone which is beginner, teen, texting market. The camera is good enough for picture messaging but nothing beyond that. The keyboard feels cramped when typing due to the dedicated number row. If you have big hands (like myself) you're not going to do well with this but people with normal hands should do fine. The screen is low res which you won't want to watch videos or view pictures on but it good enough for reading text, emails and basic phone functions. One of the good thing about Android is that it is able to work on many hardware configurations from high spec to low spec. Android 2.3 Gingerbread powers the LG Enlighten with LG's UX (User Experience) on top of it. You get 7 home screens to customize and plenty of widgets available It runs smooth enough to get the basic tasks done and the phone is responds well to touch and doesn't slow down when multiple apps are running. 3G ...

A video review of the LG eXpo Windows Mobile 6.5 touchscreen phone on AT&T. The eXpo features a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, by far the fastest CPU on a US Windows Mobile phone. It has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and an 800 x 480 pixel resistive touch screen that measures 3.2". Other features include a GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and a 5 meagpixel camera. Texting was a complaint in many people's minds, but there is just a bit of a learning curve...once you're used to it, it's easy and efficient. LG Optimus V Review
Sydney does a full review of the LG Optimus V from Virgin Mobile. The Optimus V is a standard mid-range Android device that ships with stock Android 2.2, a 600 MHz processor and a 3.2 MP auto-focus camera. Though it's not a high-end smartphone, the performance of the device was very impressive. The 600 MHz processor did a good job of keeping up and the 3G data speeds were great. The phone is especially impressive considering the price. It's only $150 from Virgin Mobile with no contract. Virgin Mobile also has some of the best plans from a prepaid carrier.
