The Vinyl Word bits - Taking back music for fans of real music.. Loads more to follow, We have just built a great team, so we are just getting started..so please hold with us.. Director bits - Director are: Eoin Aherne, Rowan Averill, Shea Lawlor, Michael Moloney. Since their irresistible bid for notice on the Dublin rock circuit in 2005, Directors crafted, intelligent guitar music has stood them apart from the usual suspects. The bands genesis saw three Malahide college entrants, guitarist Aherne, bassist Averill and frontman Moloney, playing together, sharing an aesthetic and with a few songs already starting to form. They began to take the operation seriously, assuming roles and casting around for a drummer to complete the outfit. Moloney, while studying for his degree in music, made the acquaintance of just such a drummer, classmate Lawlor, whose interests were in harmony with those of the group. Director were complete. A year later, after an arresting sequence of live shows, amid growing popularity, Director recorded their debut record, We Thrive On Big Cities, for Atlantic Records. It seems like the typical back-story for a rock quartet but Director are far from that. In everything they have done, the band have demonstrated an atypical and business-like directness. With programs ranging from Youth to having people come and stay on the campus the Denali Education Center is helping people reconnect with the wilderness, with their youth camp experiences, and educating them about the wildlife, the land, preservation and ecology in this last frontier of Alaska. And while they may learn a lot while they visit, the goal is to help them take part of what they learn back with them to the smaller but still natural gardens and forests back where the visitors live. Visual effects of The Transformers
This video is not mine, it belongs completely to the owners. I only put it on YouTube so more people can see it. Digital Domain completed nearly 100 visual effects shots, including the character animation of several robots, for the release of Michael Bays Transformers. Among the robots created by Digital Domains animation team was the severed head of Decepticon Frenzy, as well as robots that transform into objects such as a cell phone, a steering wheel and a vending machine. Digital Domain was also awarded shots of the Autobots earthly arrival in the form of asteroids and a flashback sequence set in the Arctic Circle. Following an intense battle with Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) and Mikaela Banes (Megan Fox), Frenzy is decapitated by a circular saw and the severed head becomes a crab-like robot determined to reconnect with the rest of its body. By disguising itself as a cell phone, Frenzy is able to transform and stow away undetected in Mikaelas purse. Digital Domain tackled the robotic animation of Frenzys head in concert with director Michael Bay and integrated the character into live-action photography filmed at the Hoover Dam and other locales. David Prescott, visual effects supervisor at Digital Domain, oversaw the work along with animation supervisor Dan Taylor and visual effects producer David James. Also animated by Digital Domain was the Nokia-bot, a cell phone transformed into a tiny warrior by the Allspark cubes energy, as well as the Mountain Dew-bot, a vending ...

"Our House" Fosters Mental Health Rehabilitation. John Diaz has a shovel in his hands and he is thrusting it into the rocky soil. Between the clanks of hitting the chunks of flint buried where new plants are supposed to go he talks about his plans. "I'm going to college right now so I can get my degree in business management," Diaz says. Thirty-four year old Diaz is landscaping. Planting little shrubs in front of the wooden two story house at 1530 North Alamo street, right across the street from the Pig Stand parking lot. Diaz suffers from schizophrenia, and he is a valuable member of the Our House family. "I like the atmosphere. People are friendly, and then they are my peers as well. Everything about the Club House, everything I like," Diaz said. Our House is a caring and nurturing community where individuals with mental illness can learn how to reconnect with society. Mark Stoeltje, the executive director of Our House, says the members reconnect by running the center themselves. "What's more important than the final decision that happens is the process of making the decision," said Stoeltje. "An example I'll use is whether to move the coffee pot from the kitchen to the workroom," he said. "In most work places someone would just unplug the coffee pot and move it, but we gave everybody a voice. And everybody had an opinion.
