Guitar Review - Yamaha CG171SF Flamenco & Cordoba 55FCE Thin Body Flamenco Acoustic-Electric
NOTE: This is not a scientific review/analysis, this is just for fun, I am not an expert guitar reviewer, I am not a professional musician and right now music is just my hobby. Also, note that thin-body guitars have a disadvantage when compared to full body guitars in terms of how loud the sound the guitar produces, however, the Cordoba in this review, if you like, does a good job when you compare it to the Yamaha. The two guitars in this video are different types and targeted for different players and levels, so I am not really comparing them. Thanks END OF NOTE. There are some guitars that give you way much more than what you paid for, this is the case of the Yamaha CG171SF, with a list price of $559.99 the sound it offers is something you will find in the $1000 $3000 range. The first time I played it in the shop I could not believe the price; I looked at it several times and asked the seller just to make sure it was not the wrong price tag. The one I got came with a very decent sound taking into account I have not taken it for a setup yet, I was very impressed. The guitar is made in China and the finish is impeccable, beautiful madera blanca! I predict that replacing the saddle and nut with bone will improve the sound if you want to get the best out of this Yamaha. I recommended for beginners to intermediate students, however, advanced and pros will be surprised while playing this and being aware of its price.
